My name is Becky Trammell, and I am a middle school SERT. I will be teaching English strateiges and co-teaching English with Ms. Hardt. This will be my first year teaching at Lucy Laney. I have been a Special Education Assistant in the Minneapolis school district for the last seven years. I completed the requirements for my teaching license in July at the University of St. Thomas. I will complete my Master's of Special Education in the SPring of 2014 at the University of St. Thomas. I am originally from Iowa, where I earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Northern Iowa.
I am very excited to be teaching at Lucy Laney this year. I am very passionate about helping students find and use the resources that they need to be successful. I believe that all students can learn and be successful when they are given the right tools. I feel that it is my responsibility as a SERT to help each one of my students find and use the tools that will help them be successful. I also believe that it is important to connect with students and find ways to relate opportunities to their interests. Rita Pierson explained the importance of connecting with students. "Every child deserves a champion-an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best they can possibly be." This is my goal for my students this year, to inspire them to push themselves to be the best that they can possibly be!
I look forward to partnering with you and your student to help them be successful and excited about learning this year! Please feel free to contact by phone or e-mail.
