My name is Ms. Krikava (Ms. K), and I am excited to be at Lucy Laney for the 2016-17 school year!  I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts in visual art at the University of Minnesota where I focused mostly on sculpture and painting.  After staying home with my children for nine years I decided to go back to the University of Minnesota to pursue a teaching license.   I student taught at Waite Park Elementary and Patrick Henry High School while completing my K-12 licensure and Master's of Education.

This summer I attended FLOW Northside (the Northside arts crawl)  for the first time. I was impressed and thrilled to be working in a community so rooted in the arts. The language of art communicates ideas, brings people together, informs culture, responds to our world, inspires social change, and so much more.  I am delighted to help foster an understanding and appreciation of visual art at Lucy Laney in a city that LOVES art!

I live in North Minneapolis with my husband, two children and dog.  I love camping, biking, eating and making art with my family.
