Welcome to Ms. Jade's page

My name is Jade Soik Reed. Since the fall of 2013, I have been working at Lucy Craft Laney Community School as one of the school's social workers. In 2003 my undergraduate degree was completed at St. Olaf College where I received my Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology with a Concentration in Asian Studies. Following this I continued my education at the University of St. Thomas/St. Catherine University earning my Master of Clinical Social Work (MSW) in 2007. In 2011 I earned my title as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). Previous to working at Lucy Craft Laney, I was the school social worker at a charter school in east St. Paul for five years.

As an elementary school social worker, my job is to work with students in High 5 (Pre-K) through second grades, their teachers, staff, and families. Students may need social-emotional support by meeting with me one-on-one or in small groups to work on a variety of social skills or any other issue that may be going on in their life. Additionally I work closely with students in special education in Pre-K through second grades as well as with their families and teachers. I also support the school's attendance by working with our attendance team to ensure students are coming to school on time to work toward the goal of having them succeed academically + socially-emotionally at school, home, and beyond! Throughout the year I look forward to meeting and/or maintaining supportive relationships with all of you at School/Family events!

Please feel free to call, email, mail an inquiry or stop by my office; my hours of availability are Monday-Friday, 7:30AM-3:30PM when the school is in session.

One of Ben and my greatest joys was becoming parents in March 2016 to Lucian!
